Cross Country: Boys - Runner's up in the OK Red Conference - Runner's up in the Regional Championship - 7th Place State Finals - Seth Conner broke school record with 5k time of 14:54 - XC team All Academic State - Seth Conner & Matthew Schwartz- All Academic State Individuals - Seth Conner- All State Boys Bowling: - Boys team Conference champion - Boys team Regional champion - Boys State team high qualifier - 3 players qualify for state individuals - 2 players all state (1 first team, 1 second team) Boys Lacrosse: Conference Champions - OK Conference Tier 3 - 2024 Boys Diving: State Championships: 1st place - Robby Russo 2nd place - Matthew Gauck 10th place - Payton Whipple Individual Honors @ State Championships - All divers reached the All-American submission score - Robby Russo: Named MISCA Diver of the Year - Coach Micah Clack: Named MISCA Diving Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year Regional Success: - Robby Russo: Won the Regional Title - Coach Micah Clack: Named Regional Diving Coach of the Year Conference Success: - OK Red Conference Event Champions: - 3rd place - Robby Russo - 4th place - Matthew Gauck - 9th place - Payton Whipple - 17th place - Jonas Rother All Divers qualified for regionals including first year exchange student Jonas Rother who clinched the wild card position. Girls Golf - Girls' Golf was 5th in the OK-Red this season - Kylie Coffey won the Black Division of the Russ Johnson Invitational hosted by Kenowa Hills - Kylie Coffey was named All-Conference Honorable Mention - Girls' Golf was named Academic All-State with a team GPA of 3.828 - Addie Cumings, Jessica Johns, Sydney Mott, Lily Morse (HM), and Grace Soneral were named Academic All-State for Girls' Golf Wrestling: - 5 Regional Qualifiers: Tomas Mendez, Aurelio Mendez, Carlitos Leija, Brody Schuitemann, Ian Barynas - 2 State Qualifiers: Tomas mendez, Ian Barynas Tomas finished top 12 in his weight class & Ian 2nd at the heavyweight class earning him All-State Honors. Boys & Girls Track: Boys -3rd place at Regionals and 3200 relay school record broke: Seth Conner, Dom Otto, Parker Strelecki, Mason Lucas. Also qualified for MITCA State Championship Meet. Track and Field State Championship Results: Eleven Jenison Student Athletes qualified for the MHSAA Division 1 State Finals hosted by East Kentwood on June 1, 2024. - Camden Brown, Seth Conner, Tyler Lopez, Leigha Stoepker, Brezlyn Post, Joey Bonacci, Robby Russo, Ava Bonacci, Dom Otto, Parker Strelecki, and Mason Lucas. The Wildcats had a very strong showing at the state meet: Boys 400m - Camden Brown placed 24th (Time: 51.72) Boys 1600m - Seth Conner placed 8th (Time: 4:15.33)*PR *School Record Boys 3200m - Seth Conner placed 17th (Time: 9:26.62) *PR Girls Discus - Leigha Stoepker placed 11th (Distance: 127'04" - 38.81m) *School Record Boys Discus - Tyler Lopez placed 18th (Distance: 148'08" - 45.31m) Girls Pole Vault - Ava Bonacci placed 23rd (Height: 9'06.00" - 2.90m) Boys Pole Vault - Joey Bonacci placed 5th (Height: 14'06.00 - 4.42m), Brezlyn Post placed 19th (Height: 13'00.00" - 3.96m), Robby Russo placed NH (Height: NH) Girls Shot Put - Leigha Stoepker placed 5th (Distance: 41'11") *PR Boys 4x800m Relay - M. Lucas, D. Otto, P. Strelecki, S. Conner placed 13th (Time: 7:59.86) *School Record Baseball: Ended the season with a 32-8 record. Softball: Finished the season with a 22-13 record. Boys Volleyball: Made the weekly state rankings 3 times and finished the final season ranked 8th after only 3 seasons. Girls swimming: The girls swim and dive team captured the OK Red Conference Championship for the second year in a row and placed third at the Division I state meet. The relay team of Sophia Umstead, Grace Albrecht, Layla Umstead and Emma Albrecht won the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relay at the State meet, finishing with the second fastest times in Michigan history. Additionally, they set a new Division I record in the 200 Medley. Sophia Umstead and Grace Albrecht earned All-American times in their respective events. Sophia Clack earned All-State diving honors. Sophia Umstead swam the second fastest 100 Breaststroke in Michigan History and set a new Eastern Michigan pool record. Additionally, Grace Albrecht won the 50 Freestyle for the fourth year in a row, one of only a handful of women to achieve this distinction in Michigan history. Boys swimming: The Jenison Boys Swim and Dive team finished 11th at state meet overall. Robby Russo and Matthew Gauck finished at the top, going 1-2 in diving. They are the highest placing divers in Jenison history. Payton Whipple placed 10th in diving. All three divers earned All-American consideration status for their best 11 dives from this season. Caleb Storey had second day swims in the 200 and 500. Additionally he earned All-Conference honors. Competitive Cheer: - Qualified for Regionals for two years in a row, Laurel MacKay-Aamodt won the Assistant Competitive Cheer Coach of the year award. - Frannie Keeley has been appointed to the MHSAA Student Advisory Committee
